The Clek Oobr is a high-back booster that can be converted into a backless seat as your child grows. This sturdy model comes highly rated for safety, and it features a rigid LATCH system, a metal frame with energy-absorbing foam for side impact protection, and a structural headrest. It’s made with comfort in mind with an integrated drink holder and the ability to be reclined by up to 12 degrees. Its Greenguard Gold-certified fabrics contain no flame retardants and are protected against stains, moisture, and odors.
Overview of Clek Oobr Booster Car Seat
Offering both high-back and backless modes, the Clek Oobr is designed for kids aged four and older, ranging from 40 to 100 pounds in weight. The full-back mode is for children ranging from 38 to 57 inches in height, while the backless one is for those between 40 and 57 inches tall.
This model’s metal frame features components that connect rigidly to your car’s LATCH anchors, so you won’t need to do any tightening with a strap. A foam layer absorbs energy, which can result in less force transferred to your child if a side-impact collision were to occur. What’s more, a structural headrest with deep side wings is connected to the frame by way of steel rods; this provides for reduced twisting movements and improved protection of the head during a crash. A testament to the overall safety of the Clek Oobr is it’s been rated a “Best Bet” by the nonprofit Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for 10 consecutive years.
The Clek Oobr car seat is engineered for your child’s comfort, with soft padded armrests and a free-pivoting back that provides up to 12 degrees of recline for comfortable naps. A detachable drink holder conveniently can be placed in the dishwasher for a quick and easy cleanup.
While all car seats that are rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) meet federal standards for safety and crash performance, the NHTSA also rates car seats for usefulness factors. The NHTSA has graded the Clek Oobr Booster Car Seat as follows:

Comfort and Convenience
When it’s set in the high-back mode, the Clek Oobr Booster Car Seat can be reclined up to 12 degrees, which makes for comfortable naps. This comes in handy on road trips or any time your child is ready for a snooze. It also features soft, padded armrests and a height-adjustable headrest.
The removable cupholder, which Clek calls a Drink-Thingy, allows your child to always have a drink or a snack close at hand. You’ll appreciate that you can easily remove it and place it in the dishwasher when it needs cleaning. When it comes to caring for the fabric of the Clek Oobr, note that it is not machine washable. If a spot has dried, it can be brushed or scraped lightly, as well as wiped with water. You can also apply a mild detergent, and work the area with a soft brush. Allow the solution to remain on the spot for one minute, after which you can remove it with clean water or blot it with a towel.
While the Clek Oobr feels sturdy and safe, the downside is that parents generally feel it’s heavy and difficult to carry. This can make it a better choice for those who do not need to transfer it frequently from one car to another.

Clek Oobr Booster Car Seat vs. Chicco KidFit 2-in-1 Booster Car Seat
To see how the Clek Oobr stands up to the competition, we compared it with the similar Chicco KidFit 2-in-1. Both models offer high-back and backless modes and have similar weight limits, with the KidFit supporting 10 more pounds in maximum weight, at 110 pounds. Both models meet all applicable federal safety standards and feature energy-absorbing foam to help lower the risk of injury upon impact.
When it comes to comfort and convenience, the Clek Oobr is reclinable, whereas the KidFit does not offer this option. The KidFit incorporates two cupholders, while the Clek Oobr only provides one. Having that additional cupholder can really come in handy when you want to provide your child with both a drink and a snack. In addition, the price of the KidFit is significantly lower, making it a potentially better option for budget-minded parents.
PishPoshBaby's Clek Oobr Booster Car Seat Review
The Clek Oobr is both a highback and backless booster whose high price is matched by excellent crash test results, premium quality materials, and easy to follow instructions.
With a solid steel frame, the Oobr is easy to convert as a child grows taller. Like the Clek Oil, the Oorb comes with excellent label and easy to follow instructions. However, it shares the other Clek’s safety ‘s high price yet difficult to clean build.

If safety is all your looking for, there is no need to look further than a Clek. The Oobr has impressive crash test results from CR and hard to beat steel frame.
Besides being difficult to clean, the blest routing path is not completely labeled, and many of those were already peeling when we removed the seat from the box.
The biggest pros for this seat is not only safety but how it concerts from a high back booster to a backless version as a child grows.
