Clek Olli Backless Booster Car Seat vs. Chicco GoFit Backless Booster Car Seat
In many ways, the Clek Olli and the Chicco GoFit are very similar models that are known to be both safe and comfortable. Both also feature double-foam padding, and their portability makes them practical for families who frequently carpool or who have multiple vehicles in the household. While both have removable fabric covers, only that of the GoFit is designed for the washing machine.
Another difference between the two involves installation: If you’re looking for a model with LATCH connectors, the Olli would be the better choice, as the GoFit is only made for use with your vehicle’s seat belt system. Price-wise, however, the GoFit sells for nearly one-third the cost of the Olli, making it a better option if you’re in the market for a quality budget-friendly model.
DadLabs Clek Olli Backless Booster Review
Conclusion
The Clek Olli is a bit high priced for a backless carrier but that is offset by its portability, high quality, and great fit for a small car.
CR has some problems with the Oil due to its lack of lateral protection, lack of belt clip for shoulder placement, and its latch attachment. The rigid latch attachment may position the booster seat more forward of the vehicle seat back than desired in some vehicles, causing the lap belt to fit incorrectly and become a safety concern.
The last concern is probably the reason gave the Clek Olli a pass rating of 4 rather the other Clek’s 5. Another negative is that the seat belt routing path labeling is difficult to find and read and the instruction manual cannot be accessed while the child is in the seat. Some owners have found that it can be easy to lose parts since the seat must be disassembled to read.
In its favor, the Olli is lightweight enough that a second grader can carry it herself. Another big plus is it has a great belt fit in most seating.
