Background on Evenflo
When was the company started?
Evenflo was founded in 1920, and at first, the company created products to make baby feeding easier and more efficient. Soon after their debut, Evenflo incorporated as Pyramid Rubber Company and continued to manufacture infant feeding nipples until 1935. At this time, and through World War ll, the Pyramid Rubber Company became the only manufacturer that sold baby feeding equipment. It was also during this time that Evenflo designed the first-ever infant feeding nipple that didn’t require you to pull the nipple over the mouth of the bottle, but could be secured with a SURE SEAL ring. This innovation put Evenflo’s line of feeding equipment on the map.
In 1947, Evenflo purchased Oil City Glass Co. in Pennsylvania and began making glass baby bottles to keep up with the changing times. Then, in 1960, Evenflo produced an assortment of one-stop-shopping nursing kits. In 1995, Evenflo Juvenile Products and Evenflo Juvenile Furniture Company merged to create Evenflo Company Inc.
As the years went on, Evenflo manufactured a variety of different baby products and worked with numerous retailers to get their products everywhere to create the company that we see today.
What products does the company manufacture?
Evenflo manufactures a complete line of car seats, strollers, and at-home equipment.
Car seats
- Infant
- Convertible
- All-In-One
- Booster
Strollers
- Full-size (birth and up)
- Compact-fold (6 months and up)
- Modular (6 months and up)
At-home equipment
What is the reputation of the company’s products?
The general report from Consumer Affairs is that Evenflo manufactures extraordinary car seats that are easy to operate and adjust. However, there are some slight concerns regarding the installation system. Most people find it quite difficult to install/uninstall their Evenflo car seats, but other than that, Evenflo proves to be a great company with safe and secure car seats that you and your child will enjoy.
Difference Between Evenflo Convertible Car Seats
What are the main differences between the five Evenflo models described in the previous section?
The biggest difference between these five models is that out of all of them, the Evenflo EveryStage DLX All-in-One car seat is the only one equipped with the EasyClick LATCH system that makes installation 3X tighter.
Additionally, the Evenflo Sonus is the only one out of this lineup that is fitted with an air ventilation system to keep your little one cool the whole ride long.
The Symphony Elite and the EveryStage DLX are the only all-in-one car seats. As I mentioned previously, the EveryStage DLX is equipped with the EasyClick LATCH system, but the Symphony Elite has the SuperLATCH to make installation quicker rather than tighter. Also, the EveryStage DLX has 5 recline angles, and the Symphony Elite only has 3. Lastly, the Symphony Elite has 3 layers of side impact protection and lasts up to 8 years, while the EveryStage DLX does not include extra layers of side impact protection, and lasts up to 10 years.
Now, to make reviewing the differences of the convertible car seats easier, I’ve separated them into categories.
Harness Positions
- Evenflo Tribute LX - 4
- Evenflo Sonus - 5
- Evenflo SureRide DLX - 6

Evenflo vs Graco convertible car seat
Evenflo and Graco are both leading manufacturers in car seats, strollers, and at home baby products. Graco is a little younger than Evenflo, but both are praised for having exceptional car seats that are specifically designed to keep your child safe on every ride, even as they get older.
Both manufacturers sell their car seats at about the same price with Graco being just a little bit more expensive than Evenflo. Additionally, Graco generally has better NHTSA safety ratings, but Evenflo conducts crash tests to ensure that their car seats can withstand the force of an accident 2X the amount set by the NHTSA.
As for their features, there aren’t many differences between the two. Evenflo does outfit their car seats with more padding than Graco does, but other than that, they’re pretty much the same.
