Convertible car seats are a great way to protect your child's safety through key stages of their development, and Britax makes some of the best convertible car seats available. The Britax Advocate easily converts from a rear-facing to a forward-facing car seat, and will fit children from 5-65 pounds, or up to 49 inches in height, so you can use it for years.
The 14-position harness adapts to growing children without needing rethreading, and the revolutionary ClickTight installation system uses your vehicle's seatbelt to make safe, secure installation a snap. The Britax Advocate ClickTight is a fast, easy way to provide excellent protection as a child grows and their needs change.
Overview of Britax Advocate ClickTight
The Britax Advocate ClickTight has all the critical safety features you need in a child's car seat. It has a steel frame, impact-absorbing base, and three layers of side impact protection.
The Click & Safe Snug Harness indicator lets you know that the adjustable harness is properly fitted and secured, while the auto-level indicators show that you are at the correct installation angle, in any of the seven recline positions. Premium fabrics and plush foam padding keep a child comfortable and protected.
The Britax Advocate ClickTight is also built for convenience over time. The fabric cover can be easily removed for cleaning without having to remove or rethread the harness. In fact, the 14-position harness never needs re-threading, and the easy-buckle system keeps the straps and buckles out of your way while you position your child. The ClickTight installation system makes it a snap to install or remove the car seat in any vehicle, without the weight limitations of a LATCH system.
Even better, the Britax Advocate ClickTight converts quickly and easily from rear-facing to front-facing, with 7 recline positions and 14 harness positions to keep your child safe as they grow. The convertible design, along with the high quality and durability Britax is known for, means that you won't need to replace this car seat in a few months as your child grows out of it.

Who is the Britax Advocate ClickTight Most Suitable For?
With proper use and care, Britax Advocate ClickTight can stay with a child from infancy all the way up through 6 or 7 years old, depending on their height and weight.
The ability to convert from rear-facing to forward-facing, along with 14 harness positions, 7 incline positions, and 2 belt positions allows this car seat to remain safe and comfortable throughout a child's early life. The ClickTight installation system also allows you to move the car seat easily and securely to different vehicles regardless of their model or seat belt configuration, without the weight limitations of a LATCH system.
While you can install this car seat using either the ClickTight install or the LATCH system, the LATCH system is a bit more difficult to use and cumbersome. Many people find the Advocate difficult to remove with a LATCH install, and it can be a two-person job.
If you plan on using the LATCH system rather than the ClickTight system, you may want to choose a convertible car seat that is more compatible with those tethers and attachments. For most families and most vehicles, the ClickTight system is a huge improvement, and clearly Britax hopes that such technologies eventually replace LATCH altogether, but it is still needed by some families and in some vehicles.
The Britax Advocate ClickTight is an excellent choice for parents who want superior safety and ease of use for years to come, without having to replace their car seat every few years.
Even better, the Advocate and the ClickTight system are FAA approved and can be easily used and secured on an airplane using the passenger lap belt.
At 20.5 inches wide, it will easily fit into small cars, or 2-across for multiple children, but isn't the most compact model for tiny cars or 3-across configurations. Parents who want an infant car seat that is easily removed and carried, or who regularly travel with 3 children in a compact vehicle, will want a smaller, more portable car seat.

Britax Advocate ClickTight vs. Britax Boulevard
Britax is known for convertible car seats, and since both the Advocate and Boulevard have the ClickTight system, it can be hard to choose between them. Here is a comparison of these two popular car seats.
The biggest difference between the Britax Advocate and the Britax Boulevard is that the Advocate has three layers of side impact protection, while the Boulevard has only two. This not only means that the Boulevard has less protection, but it also makes the car seat slightly lighter in weight, at 29.4 pounds, and a full 2 inches narrower than the Advocate, at 18.5 inches.
While this may make it seem like the Boulevard is less safe than the Advocate, the 18.5 inch width is ideal for very compact cars, and 3-across configurations. Some vehicles and configurations simply can't fit a larger, wider car seat.
The Britax Boulevard offers exceptional safety and protection for a compact car seat in this size range, with the same ease of installation and convertible longevity of the Advocate. Since both car seats are similarly priced, and the Advocate offers greater protection, it's the better choice for most vehicles and configurations. However, if you need a more compact convertible car seat, the Britax Boulevard ClickTight is an excellent choice.

Growing up I was a carefree male going about life like there was no tomorrow. Naturally, I ‘grew’ up, settled down and started a family.
Going from an independent carefree male to a family man was somewhat of a U-turn and required a lot of learning. Luckily for me, my wife works in education and has always been the shining light always ahead of me on all factors kids related.
Initially, my wife didn’t have a driving license (luckily this has now changed and it does make life easier), and all things car related were my task. Child locks were the obvious starting point which lead me down a rabbit hole.
So far we have personally tested dozens of convertible car seats and have owned five despite neither of our kids having reached the age of 5! Simply put, a car seat can be great on paper, work great on trying out but can fail on you in real life.
This is why I have put together this website – to help inform and educate you!
Of course, as I mentioned above, at the end of the day your experience will be the best test so I’d love to hear your experiences and feedback in the comments.

I look forward to hearing from you!
