- 1Place the car seat at a 45-degree angle so that your baby's head is in line with their spine.
- 2Thread the LATCH belt through the rear-facing belt path.
- 3Affix the LATCH hook to your car’s lower anchor points.
- 4To tighten the LATCH belt, press down firmly on the car seat. Then, pull the strap to tighten it and make sure your child is secured.
- 5Turn the seat base in a circle, as if you're steering a car, to ensure that it's installed securely.

- 1Position your car seat in the middle of the backseat and make sure it's as close to the seatback as possible.
- 2Attach the top tether to the top tether anchor, and adjust it so that it is loose.
- 3Thread the LATCH belt through the back belt path, starting from behind.
- 4Affix the LATCH hooks to the lower anchor points 0f your vehicle.
- 5Pull the LATCH belt and press down firmly on the seat.
- 6Tighten up the tether.
- 7Turn the seat base in a circle, as if you're steering a car, to ensure that it's installed securely.

- 1Pull out and push back the recline handle to extend your child’s comfort while putting the child seat into a rear-facing position.
- 2Insert the buckle’s metal retainer into the slot that is closest to the child.
- 3Reach under your seat and between the base and the shell of your car, then through the recline handle.
- 4Pull up on the buckle to make sure it is securely fastened.
- 5Adjust the headrest to its highest position.
- 6Remove fasteners on seat pad and take the headrest pad from the bottom side of the headrest.

Whether you’re an expert in child restraint systems or are just looking to make sure your little ones are safe and secure, these steps will help you lock a child restraint with the vehicle belt.
- 1Review your Vehicle Owner’s Manual! Your vehicle’s owner’s manual will let you know if a child restraint can be installed in your vehicle.
- 2Determine how the child restraint will be locked in place to prevent distraction or injury.
- 3Check the seat’s retractor. Depending on your vehicle there will at least one of these settings:
- 4Check the latch* plates. The latch plates are the portion of the seat belt that inserts into the buckle.

Step-by-step instructions
- 1Take lower anchor belt off.
- 2Route the anchor belt so that it passes through the rear-facing belt path.
- 3Pull the bottom anchor belt across to the opposing side.
- 4Tilt back the child restraint.
- 5Place child restraint in the rear facing position in the back seat of your vehicle.
- 6Affix lower anchor hooks to your car’s lower anchors’
- 7Firmly push child restraint down and back towards the vehicle seat. The harness straps should be snug, but not too tight. If the harness is too tight, pull it away from your child’s body until you hear a click or feel the belt tighten.
- 8Adjusting Tether Strap:
- 9To loosen: Lift up on the tether adjuster and push it towards the tether hook.

Safety 1st Grow and Go Cleaning Instructions
Cleaning and Washing the Cover
The straps of the Safety 1st Grow and Go can be washed. To remove the convertible car seat cover for washing, follow these steps:
- 1Raise the adjustable headrest.
- 2Remove the elastic hooks from the plastic clips located around the car seat.
- 3Remove the seat pad.
- 4Loosen the elastic straps on the backside of the car seat.
- 5Remove the elastic straps from the plastic hooks located beneath the headrests.
- 6Remove the headrest cover.
- 7Remove the car seat's covers.
Things to remember when cleaning your car seat cover:
- 1Machine wash separately with cold water.
- 2Make sure harness is closed so fastening strips aren't exposed.
- 3Do not use bleach.
- 4Tumble dry only for 10-12 minutes on low heat.
- 5Remove immediately to prevent deterioration.

- 1Push down on the metal adjuster beneath the seat pad.
- 2Pull on the harness straps to loosen the harness.
- 3Swivel the QuickFit handles inwardly.

Safety 1st Grow and Go how to recline
Do not install your child's car seat when it is on an incline, or you will risk a serious injury. Always make sure that your vehicle is on level/flat ground before installing and testing the recline angle. If your vehicle seat is deep and sloped, place a towel or foam noodle at the point where the seat cushion meets the back of the seat.

- 1Pull the recline handle out and push the top of child restraint toward the back.
- 2Insert the buckle’s retainer into the slot nearest to your child for a snug fit.
- 3Pull the metal retainer entirely through the shell and pad.
- 4Pull up on buckle to ensure it is secured and cannot pull out.
- 5Adjust headrest to its top most position.
- 6Pull harness straps through slots on side of headrest.
- 7Loosen harness straps.
