Car Seats Compatible with UPPAbaby Strollers (2026): Complete Compatibility Guide

baby sitting in car seat

When we bought our UPPAbaby VISTA, one of the first questions I had was which car seats would actually clip into it. UPPAbaby strollers work with a wide range of infant car seats — some directly, others with adapters — but the compatibility information is scattered across multiple websites and product pages. I’ve compiled everything into one reference so you can figure out your options quickly.

The short version: the UPPAbaby MESA attaches directly with no adapter. For other brands (Chicco, Nuna, Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Clek, and more), you’ll need a UPPAbaby adapter, which runs about $20–40.

Quick Compatibility Reference

Car Seat Brand Compatible Models Adapter Needed?
UPPAbaby Mesa, Mesa V2, Mesa Max No — direct fit
Chicco KeyFit 30, KeyFit 35, Fit2 Yes — Chicco-specific adapter
Nuna PIPA, PIPA RX, PIPA Lite, PIPA Lite R, PIPA Lite LX, PIPA Lite RX Yes — Maxi-Cosi/Nuna/Cybex adapter
Maxi-Cosi Mico Max 30, Mico Max Plus, Mico AP, Mico NXT, Mico, Citi, Cabrio, Cabriofix Yes — Maxi-Cosi/Nuna/Cybex adapter
Cybex Aton 2, Aton Q, Cloud Q Yes — Maxi-Cosi/Nuna/Cybex adapter
Clek Liing Yes — check for Clek-specific adapter
Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 4-35 Yes — Peg Perego adapter
Graco Older SnugRide models (Classic Connect only) — limited Yes — discontinued adapter

Not compatible: Baby Jogger, Bugaboo, Doona, and Diono car seats do not have UPPAbaby adapters available.

UPPAbaby MESA — The Seamless Option

If you want zero hassle, the UPPAbaby MESA is the obvious pairing. It clicks directly into any UPPAbaby stroller (VISTA, VISTA V2, CRUZ, CRUZ V2) without an adapter. The connection is solid — you just hold the two buttons on the stroller sides to pop the bassinet or toddler seat off, then snap the MESA into the same mount points. The SMARTSecure system on the base gives a visual indicator for correct installation, and the side-impact protection and adjustable headrest are well-designed.

The MESA V2 and Mesa Max are the current versions with improved features. If you’re buying both a stroller and car seat, going UPPAbaby for both saves you the adapter cost and gives the cleanest setup.

Chicco Car Seats with UPPAbaby

The Chicco KeyFit 30 and KeyFit 35 are among the most popular infant seats on the market, and they work well with UPPAbaby strollers using the Chicco-specific infant car seat adapter. The adapter is available on the UPPAbaby website and Amazon.

The KeyFit 30 accommodates babies up to 30 pounds with a five-point harness, extendable canopy, and a two-position carry handle. Installation with the adapter is straightforward — click the adapter into the stroller frame, then click the car seat into the adapter. A one-hand release button lets you detach quickly.

Nuna PIPA with UPPAbaby

All Nuna PIPA models work with UPPAbaby strollers using the Maxi-Cosi/Nuna/Cybex universal adapter (the same adapter works for all three brands). The PIPA line is a premium infant seat with features like a load leg on some models, seven recline positions, and an SPF 100+ canopy.

Nuna also makes their own ring-shaped adapter that allows one-handed attachment and removal. If you’re using a double stroller configuration, you’ll need two adapters.

Maxi-Cosi with UPPAbaby

Most Maxi-Cosi infant car seats are compatible with UPPAbaby strollers using the same universal adapter that works for Nuna and Cybex. Compatible models include the Mico Max 30, Mico Max Plus, Mico AP, Mico NXT, Citi, Cabrio, and Cabriofix.

Note: the adapter is for infant carrier seats only. Maxi-Cosi convertible car seats (like the Pria) don’t clip into strollers — they’re designed for permanent vehicle installation.

Cybex and Clek with UPPAbaby

Cybex Aton models use the same Maxi-Cosi/Nuna/Cybex adapter. The Clek Liing requires its own specific adapter — check the UPPAbaby website for current availability, as adapter stock can vary.

Graco with UPPAbaby: Limited Options

This is where many parents get disappointed. UPPAbaby originally made an adapter for Graco Classic Connect car seats, but this has been discontinued. If you already own one, older Graco models like the SafeSeat, SnugRide, SnugRide 30, SnugRide 32, and SnugRide 35 may work with the legacy adapter.

However, newer Graco seats with SnugLock or Click Connect technology are not compatible with UPPAbaby strollers. Graco generally designs their products to work within the Graco ecosystem (with Graco strollers), so cross-brand compatibility isn’t available.

Important Safety Notes

Always use the correct adapter for your specific car seat brand. Using an incorrect or aftermarket adapter can result in an insecure connection that could be dangerous. Only use adapters sold by UPPAbaby or the car seat manufacturer — never improvise a connection.

When your infant car seat is on the stroller, make sure it clicks fully into place and give it a gentle tug to confirm it’s secure before moving. And remember that stroller compatibility is only for infant carrier seats — convertible car seats are designed for vehicle use only and don’t attach to strollers.
